Today, we introduce the latest update of the Tikkie API! This update gives you the possibility to create iDEAL QR codes to collect payments for your business. This will bring you ease in collecting a payment: the QR code is scanned using a smartphone and the amount can be paid! Read more about how it works below.

iDEAL QR

Over the last fifteen years, iDEAL has become indispensable. iDEAL allows customers to make direct online transfers from their bank account. Today, the majority of e-commerce transactions in the Netherlands are done with iDEAL. It is a trusted name in online payments, and now they bring that trust to QR payments. iDEAL QR is a QR code that can be scanned in order to perform a payment. It is very versatile because it can be scanned by smartphone cameras, QR code scanners, the iDEAL app, and the mobile apps of most large banks. Next to that, it is possible to pay once or multiple times and it can have a fixed or variable amount. Perfect to make payments easier.

How it works

After you’ve implemented the new operations in the API you will be able to create an iDEAL QR. The QR can be used in printed media or presented to your customers digitally. Your customer just needs to scan, decide the amount (if applicable), and pay. It is possible for your company to be notified when a payment is made and payment details can be retrieved.

Similar to how payments for payment requests are handled, iDEAL QR payments will be paid out combined or individually based on your organization's payout settings.
